Chok Anan (MA224)

Mango Chok Anan (Magnifera indica) is a variety of mango that is the most popularly cultivated in Malaysia. This variety of mango originates from Thailand and was introduced around the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The uniqueness of this mango is that it is capable of bearing fruit throughout the year if its growth is controlled, even though it typically has a seasonal fruiting pattern.

This plant is suitable to be grown in areas with hot weather, preferably for at least 1-2 weeks to encourage flower production and subsequent fruiting.

Chok Anan mango (MA224) has become the most popularly cultivated mango variety in Malaysia. Its delicious and sweet taste is comparable to Harumanis mango. Chok Anan also fruits quickly and ripens well, with an expected fruiting period of 1-3 years.

The fruit is elongated and round at the apex. The average weight of each fruit is 150 grams to 250 grams. When young, the fruit is green and turns yellow when ripe. The flesh is orange-yellow in color, and it has a sweet taste.
